Climate control switch swap.

Does anyone have information on what vehicle the modern version of the climate control switch that works with the L 400 is? The version that has auto temperature button. Sleek looking compared to the stock one.

There were 3 types of heater controls, which one you got depended on what trim level your L400 was. The image you've posted is from an Exceed or higher spec.
Lower models got pushbuttons for air direction, but manual levers for temperature and fan speed:


2WD vans had manual everything:



I don't knowwhat would be involved in installing the fully automatic system (your photo) into a cheaper model. Probably quite a lot of work: the cheaper models would be missing the motors that control the temperature flap, as well as the electronic fan speed control.

Nice response. I’m wishing anyways, that the switch unit had the motors as part of the cable pulls. I.e. all interchangeable. Obviously dreaming. Lol. Cheers

Yeah, that would be nice but nope. The AC/heater unit will have the mounting points to install the motors, but it's not as easy as just swapping the controls.
