i have l300 96 4d56t i would say, the same i don't know how much would it be in your place, in Ireland the pump cost me at around 60 euro, timing belt kit (i decided to replace it anyway along with pump) appr 80, and labour 250 about 400 total

i had the same as you described the reason is OAT based coolant, the metal on the old engines got 'eaten' by this coolant which year is yours and which engine?

water pump. had the same, the difference was that i come to visit mechanic in his garage. just stopped the engine and got a flood of coolant. the pump was new and original from Mitsubishi Japan, but coolant was wrong sorry for killing your hope for quick and cheap repair

you can blow it out, as you would do with hoover filter. but for the price it does not worth it
